Five Dresses to Jingle the Day Away

Ooooooh I'm so excited. Giving some more festive praise as I am now in Christmas overload!! Last night I had my first Christmas dinner with my Aberdeen gals in my flat and OH MY GOD, the food was so amazing I wanted to climb into it and eat my way out. However, seeing as that's not really acceptable even for me, I opted to eat like a normal person and I plan to devour the left overs later today. Yumalicious!
Anywaaaaaay, so seeing as Christmas day is so freakin' close, I've decided to write a wee post on some absolutely fabulous dresses just oh so perfect, for this magical day!! I know some of you have begun to opt for your new onesie found under the tree on Christmas morning as your days attire, but for those of you who still love to get all dressed up in prep for celebrations; well here's some fancy frock idea's for you!

Dress number 1
All Saints, 'Ivy Long Sleeved Dress' - £208.50
Cor blimeeeey, this is a beauty.
Thought I'd show you this gorgeous dress from the back just so we can give full appraisal to the beautifully embellished and detailed mesh back.
This is the perfect dress if you're wanting to play glitzy glam dress up and will really put a twinkle in your eye, under the tree this Christmas.

Dress number 2
Topshop, '60s Fluff Crop Dress' - £65
I'm sorry but could you actually get a dress more festive than this?
Didn't think so.
The crop overlay of this dress gives a gorgeous structure, topped off with some red fluffy loving, well I just don't know except it's simply wonderful!
Go on and give Santa's red suit a run for its money with this beautiful wee red number!

Dress number 3
French Connection, 'Geomaze Beaded Tunic Dress' - £192
The beauty of Christmas day is that you can wear exactly what you want and no-one can tell you you're overdressed.
That's why this absolutely stunning dress from French Connection is so divinely perfect for getting your glad rags on!
The attention to detail of the hand beaded sequins is utterly magical on this dress, if I had it, I think I would make a shrine for it.
Perfect.

Dress number 4
Urban Outfitters, 'Cooperative Velvet Collar Dress' - £68
For the more subtle, dress up girl.
Don't get me wrong, this dress is utterly magnificent, I am OBSESSED with velvet.
Seriously, the only thing I don't have that is velvet is underwear, but give me time...
Anyway, this dress is so beautiful in it's own element and creates beauty in a more refined way than the other dresses.
The peter pan lace collar just rounds the dress off, with texture, detail and design all complimenting each other excessively here.
This dress cannot go wrong this Christmas day.

Dress number five
Warehouse, 'Leather and Feather Dress' - £110
TEXTURE BABY.
We have leather, we have feathers and oh gurrrrrl have we got style!
This dress is so freakin' fantastic, it ticks all the boxes.
Structure, texture and overall pazzazzzz are just workin' what their mama gave them here.
This is called making a statement on Christmas day, and what's more, once Christmas is over, this dress will never let you down when those big nights come a callin'!

SO, there you have it. My choice of five dresses to dazzle the day of Christ. I do love any excuse to get my fancy frock on, so I really hope I've pushed you to, too! These dresses are so beautiful and will work wonders for any occasion still to come. As for now my lovelies, have a wonderful Christmas and I hope you find the perfect dress to Jingle the Day Away.
Love and mistletoe. x

Twinkle Those Toes with Charlotte Olympia

God I'm a sucker for some festive lovin'. Grab your Santa hats and candy canes guys as this post is giving some merry appreciation to Charlotte Olympia's Crimbo-tastic, fancy footwear. I don't really think Miss Charlotte needs much of an introduction, as let's face it shoes are to woman as what the dog is to man; their best friend, and Charlotte the wee gem has got the art of footwear down to every last inch of the heel. However, for all of you not so familiar, I will give you a quick intro to this lovely lady.
Charlotte Olympia Dellal is a London based shoe designer with a passion for footwear and and a flair for sparkle. She launched her fabulous footwear brand in 2008 and since then her brand has grown in strength, beauty and oh so amazingness. Aside from perfecting the art of footwear, Charlotte Olympia also sells some brilliantly quirky bags and some cutesie wee accessories.
So the Christmas season is now in full swing; mistletoe a-hangin', champagne bottles popping and that perfect little xmas dress is wearing you like it was born on you. So what better way to top it all off than with a pair of festive shoes to really set the eyes on you!? Charlotte Olympia's Christmas collection of footwear features eight different shoes, all perfectly themed for the Santa season, and with a variety so ranged, there is most definitely a style for everyone.

Shoe numero uno..
'All I Want' - £795
Elongate your pins in your very own wrapped up present toesies this Christmas.
The 'All I Want' shoes will work wonders for your legs with their block wedge, in this quirky, xmas pressie inspired manner and will transform any simplistic outfit into something simply wonderful.

Number two..
'Festive' - £625
Oh baby the delicacy and intricacy of these shoes is just too magical.
The slender black heel and fine suede ankle strap just screams elegance, in a more reserved, admirable way of course. Continuing the festive spirit, Charlotte finishes off these beauties with a gold bow, the perfect finish to any present. (present of shoes from me to me?)

Trois et quatre..

    'Holly' - £595 & 'Glitter Kitty' - £495
These two adorable pair of pumps are simply just too devinely cute for words!!
For all who are previous lovers of Charlotte Olympia you should be aware of her ever relevant, seasonal pumps. For example, take her Halloween sensations, which featured pumpkin designed pumps and fanged black cats; the perfect combination of eccentricity meets style. These two however, are perfect for this season on a more dressed down kinda day; beaaaaautiful.

No. 5
'Jingle Bell Dolly' - £625
Jingle all the way with these baby's!
Give Dorothy's red slippers a run for their money this season with these sensually red, stunners! These are definitely another pair for elongating those pins girls, so get something mini on and hit the town. The adorable gold bell ankle strap is detachable, so if you're not feeling like having your own soundtrack to your step, off it slips and away you go! The ultimate festive colours and the ultimate festive shoe. Perfecto!

The sixth fix..
'Kiss Me Dolly' - £625
Just like the 'Jingle Bell Dolly' these wee beauties also show off their classy, yet festive, luxurious gold platform. Who needs to hang the mistletoe when you can wear it on your shoe? Add some festive magic to the LBD this season with these quirky yet elegant shoes this winter.

Seven Heaven..
'Noelle' - £895
Snow booties meet the fashionista.
Dress them up or dress them down, you decide. These festive boots are just too perfectably wearable this season. The pure white of the boot with the contrast of the heel and platform is gorgeous, topped off the with the attentive lace-up front and luxurious rabbit fur trim, these boots are a true masterpiece. They make me want to go dashing through the snow, however, I don't think that would be too clever in a six inch heel...

And finally, number eight..
'Surprise' - £725
For the more subtly beautiful lady out there, Charlotte has designed 'Surprise'.
These shoes are so beautifully dainty and elegant and the finish of the bow over the caged peep-toes is profoundly stunning. These shoes would go absolutely perfectly with a black jumpsuit this season, drawing just enough attention to the shoe allowing you to shine in all your beauty too. Twit twoooo.
P.s don't forget to paint your toes!

So there you have it, Charlotte Olympia's magnificent shoe collection for Christmas. I hope this provides some festive inspiration and has bestowed upon you some love for Miss Charlotte herself! To have a look at all her masterpieces or to just have a little nosey click here to go to her website.
And whatever you decide to dress your toes in, make sure they sparkle away as much as you this Christmas season.
In the wise words of Charlotte herself, 'The higher the heel, the better you feel'.
Love and jingle bells. x

Vintage Lovers Update

Been a while since I gave some vintage praise, so baby here it is. This is just a wee general post on some of my favourite vintage boutiques on ASOS marketplace, however, I intend to exploit some other fabulous vintage brands out with marketplace in weeks to come.
So I've been feeling slightly nostalgic this week, as obviously it's The Clothes Show Live down in Birmingham this weekend and sadly this year, I will not be attending. *Cue the violins.* Last year however, I attended with my year at uni and oh hunnie did I splash the cash. Aside from 11am wine, it's fair to say my favourite part was all the vintage stands at The Clothes Show, many of which are featured on ASOS Marketplace. So all this sadness and FOMO (you know what it is, Fear of Missing Out yo') has led me to share some of my favourite brands currently on ASOS Marketplace. So, I hope you appreciate this load of mothball beauty and get yourself online and start grabbing some of those vintage treasures.

My first utterly fabulous brand on ASOS marketplace I wish to share with you is Child of Zoa. It is inevitable how much of a sucker I am for a bit of velvet lovin' and Child of Zoa are definitely here to cater to my weird/slightly excessive, velvet needs. These guys know exactly what's going on when it comes to texture and flare and their garments they stock are definitely those head-turning, vintage extravaganza pieces us vintage hoarders simply need in our lives. All rise Child of Zoa, all fall bank balance.
To fully exploit the absolutely fabulousness of this boutique I thought I would just show you some of my faves they are currently stocking. But let's face it, you're going to want the full shabang, so check them out for yourself by clicking here

I love midi and I love velvet AND the LBD is key in any wardrobe.

What more could you ask for?

Vintage 1990s Black Velvet Evening Dress - £26

I already have a billion velvet blazers, but this is a BEAUTY.
Twit Twooooo.
1990's Plum Velvet Blazer - £45

It's winter and let's face it it's bloody freezing outside.
Unless you're from a tropical area that's not the UK.
It may be a blazer so not the warmest of coats, but the oversized style will let you pile on the layers underneath and still look ever so stylish on top.
Vintage 1980s Green Military Blazer - £32

Oh the trouser suit, you little gem.
I am so in love with trouser suits; the androgyny is just too perfect for words.
This trouser suit however, well, it just takes the biscuit.
Vintage 1990s Two Tone Suit - £32

Next I would like to introduce to you Circa Vintage. If you define yourself as that elegant-vintage fashionista, this is the boutique for you. Circa Vintage stock some of the most exquisitely stunning dresses, which I must say are complete perfection for any up-scale Christmas night out's this season.  Aside from having a boutique on ASOS Marketplace, Circa Vintage also have their own website and a fabulous wee store in my hometown, Glasgow! But seriously, their dresses are TO DIE FOR, so please give them your full attention and visit their boutique by clicking here.
Below are some images of my favourite frocks and garments and furthermore, the chance for you to fully grasp what I am rambling about.

Utterly and profoundly stunning, I can say no more.
Vintage 1920's style beaded dress - £38

I just love some fringing so I do.
This LBD is so perfect I want to cry and wash the dress in my tears.
But that would be weird, so I won't.
Black 1980's Dress with Sequins and Fringing - £35

This little treat of a cape top is literally a drape sensation.
So simple, so sultry, so seductive.
Sheer Black Lace Fringed Cape Top - £25

Oh my god.
I've fallen into a coat coma.
The attention to detail is actually so outstanding my fingers are trembling.
This coat is not for the faint hearted, it deserves an owner that will exploit it to the best of its beautiful ability.
Vintage Frank Usher sequinned 1920's style coat - £85

My third vintage boutique I wish to share is Blitz. Blitz cater to that chick rockin' the baggy knitted jumper and some kind of reformed leather to cover her bottom half. This is so up my street it's unreal. I just love my mothball smelling jumpers and if you're ever curious as to my whereabouts, just look for the weirdo in the corner with her head buried into her knitted, baggy jumper. Yes, I am strange. Anyway, getting sidetracked jeeeeez. So yea, Blitz stock some perfect reformed leather skirts and then pretty much every kind of jumper imaginable. The jumper literally is the simplest garment of clothing. It can be dressed up and down with the flip of a necklace or a slip of the skirt and let's face it it doesn't take a scientist to comply with this style. - Scientist is the smartest job I can think of at this time in the morning. So yea. go jumper crazy and maybe you will find yourself burying your face in the smell of mothballs too... Mmmm tasty. To visit their full boutique on ASOS Marketplace click here.
Again, see below for some of my fave's.

Genuine leather is where it's at.
All you 'pleather' lovers need to turn it around!
So in love with the length, however all you lucky gals with fab pins don't worry they also have this in a shorter style for you to work what yo' mama gave ya.
Vintage Leather Skirt - £25

The bomber jacket is so key this season and silk is literally clothing heaven.
Outshine the highstreet bomber jacket wannabe's and bag yourself one of these beauties.
Silk Bomber Jacket - £45

Oh my days, I am OBSESSED with christmas jumpers!
This is literally so beaut, the colours are a perfect contrast to your standard Xmas jumper.
However, the reindeer design, ooh la la put me under some mistletoe.
Vintage Christmas Jumper - £30

So finally, I leave you with my last vintage boutique of this post. Now this one is here to mix it up a bit and create some swag in the atmosphere. Yea, I just said that, get over it. Introducing King and Co Vintage. Currently this boutique is only stocking men's garments on their ASOS Marketplace boutique, however, this is my reason for sharing. King and Co Vintage stock some serious amount of denim deliciousness and because I sometimes I have the tendency to dress like a boy, I thought I would share them with you, for all you girls that share this style of dress. When it comes to summer, everyone is literally chasing after the perfect denim jacket. However, it has to be said, no-one quite does the perfect denim jacket like a good old Levi number. King and Co Vintage currently have in stock a pretty awesome Levi Denim Jacket from the early 1990's and for us gals it will tick all the boxes for next summer's denim jacket checklist. Oversized, overwashed, understated. Perfect. To view their ASOS Marketplace boutique click here. Not only may you find something for yourself, but if you're lucky enough to have some stylish man on your arm, you may be racking up some stuff for him too.

Vintage Levi's Denim Jacket - £40

And with that I bid you farewell my vintage lovers. Until next time.
Love and Mothballs. x
